Beautiful Slocan Lake looks as still as a pane of glass as the sunset casts a pink and orange hue over the surface. This view was taken from the town of New Denver in the Slocan Valley, which is located in the Central Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. Slocan Lake is about 45 kilometers wide and is accessible by three towns.
This view of Slocan Lake from New Denver gives the viewer an instant feeling of calm and serenity. The hues of the sunset and the stillness of the lake create such a tranquil and beautiful scene that it is difficult to tear your eyes away from it.
Slocan Lake is accessible from three towns, New Denver where this view was taken from, Silverton and Slocan. Valhalla Provincial Park is located on the west side of the lake, and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park is located on the east side of the lake. So Slocan Lake is kind of a meeting point for all these locations, who all get to share in the natural beauty of this region.
