Not your average puppy dog, the Alaskan Husky is as essential to the northern way of life as anything thing else. The Husky was bred primarily for speed and performance. Even with all the modern conveniences, there is nothing better than a dog sled to get from here to there in Wintertime Alaska. A fantastic way to view these great dogs in action would be to take in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. You can always fit in a little snow skiing, ice fishing, or Northern Lights watching on the side. Just bring the Alaskan Huskies along for the trip home. . . just in case.
