Perdido mountain, or Monte Perdido towers over the Valle de Pineta, Pineta valley in the Huesca region of Spain in Europe. The National Park of Ordesa and Mount Perdido is 16,000 hectares of spectacular beauty, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.
Monte Perdido in Spain is 3,352 meters (11,007 feet) and is the third highest mountain in the Pyrenees, only Pico de Aneto and Posets are higher. The Pineta valley in El Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido in Huesca, Spain ends at the base of the mountain.

To climb Perdido mountain in the Pyrenees in the summer is a very steep hike up the north side, but the winter is a different story as crampons and ice-axes are needed. Whatever the season the fantastic views from Monte Perdido are worth the climb.
