Suspended at the dizzying height of 436 metres (1,427 feet) above the Fitzsimmons Creek valley, between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains in British Columbia, Canada, the new Peak 2 Peak Gondola has proven to be a popular tourist attraction at the resort.
The gondola now allows easy access to and from either peak for skiers and sightseers alike with stunning views of alpine scenery which would otherwise be inaccessible.
The journey of 4.4 kilometres between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains takes around 11 minutes and links the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain to the Rendezvous...

Two of the twenty eight gondola cabins feature glass bottoms which allow passengers an easy view to the valley below.
As far as engineering feats are concerned, the gondola can claim to be the longest unsupported span for a lift of its kind in the world at 3.02 kilometres/1.88 miles of free span between towers, and the highest lift of its kind. It is the only gondola installation of its kind in North America.
