Parliament Hill is located on the Ottawa River and is the home of the Parliament Buildings of Canada, the best known of which is the Centre Block, with the Peace Tower, the tall building which features the clock.

... they came to the continent. The entire site measures 112,360 square metres, and the first building, the Centre Block, was built between 1865 and 1927. This contains the House of Commons and the Senate Chamber and of course, the famous Peace Tower. The other buildings were started around the same time, the East Block built between 1867 and 1910, and the West Block, also started in 1865.
Canada Day celebrations take place on Parliament Hill every year as well as extensive Remembrance Day celebrations, which are attended by the Prime Minister and the rest of the members of Canada's government.
