Information about the "Pacific Ocean Image Oregon Coast" photograph:

Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach along the Oregon Coast in the USA is an image that catches the attention of many tourists that visit this area. This sea stack stands in the Pacific Ocean along the coastline of Oregon and reaches heights of two hundred and thirty-five feet.

When you stroll along the beach with the waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing against your legs, stand at the base of Haystack Rock and look up to get the true size of this massive rock. Search below the surface at low tide and watch the many sea creatures that reside around the bottom of Haystack Rock.

This rock is made up of basalt due to the lava that eroded from the Grand Ronde Mountains millions of years ago. All of these rocks were once joined to the coastal rock formations but over the years they have been destroyed by nature's ways. The small rocks around Haystack Rock are known as the Needles.

Beyond Haystack Rock, the Pacific Ocean looks like it is thundering against the rock ledges but in the foreground, the waves give one the peaceful image of a gentle giant lapping up against the shore. This is a tranquil day along the Oregon Coast where the beauty of the coast is radiant, while other days the Pacific Ocean is raging with some of the most spectacular storms.

Across the horizon in this image is Chapman Point and Ecola State Park which are other great places to visit while on the Oregon Coast in the USA.
