Orca Playing: Scientific Name:
Orcinus orca

share to Facebook A pod of orca spend a leisurely day in the ocean except for one frisky orca who is continously playing. Orca are found playing in the wild with members of their own pod as well as other pods. When a few pods of orca join together, the playing can lead to some terrific action such as breaching, spyhopping and tail slapping.

Whale watching trips are an excellent way to view some of these groups of orca playing. Be sure you have plenty of film in your camera as you never know what kind of day you are in for with orcas. Everyday is a different experience with wild orca.

Many tours leave from the Northern end of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
