The Oamaru Wine and Food Festival is an annual event held in February of each year in the beautiful Oamaru Gardens on the South Island of New Zealand. People spend the day celebrating good wine, food and entertainment along with various other activities. There are lots of stands set up with things for the kids to participate in which makes it a great experience for the whole family.
On a sunny day, the Oamaru Wine and Food Festival brings out people from Central Otago, Christchurch and Dunedin. There are stalls set up that provide food from various cultures and an assortment of great Waitaki Wines, beers and liquers.
The Oamaru Gardens have been opened since 1876 and is one of the most beautiful and oldest in the country. The gardens are always kept in good shape and tended to regularly and it is a stunning place to visit even when the Wine and Food Festival is not happening.
On the day of the Wine and Food Festival the gardens are opened from 11:00 am until 7:30 pm and it is truly a day of fun for everyone.
