At a height where the water no longer crashes against the Whitecliffs which decorate the coastline of the North Taranaki Bight on the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, lush greenery begins to flourish up the sides of these massive cliffs. Some of the rock has crumbled away from the face of the cliff and at lower elevations, the Whitecliffs have been carved from the force of the sea and the salt has eroded other sections.
Off in the distance, stands the beauty of Mt. Egmont, a volcano which created this beautiful coastline from its volcanic activity and now some of the Whitecliffs reach hundreds of feet high towering over the sea. The carved cliffs run along the coastline for 7 kilometers making this one of the most picturesque places found on the North Island of New Zealand.
