New Brunswick is a maritime province on Canada's East coast. Home to Fundy National Park, it is world-renowned for the 15-meter (50-foot) tides of the Bay of Fundy, where visitors can walk on the ocean floor among towering sea stacks. Nature-lovers have plenty of love in New Brunswick, where hiking, canoeing, and exploring opportunities abound. Kouchibouguac National Park is open year-round for you to explore.
The area is less known for it's no-less important Acadian history. The French first came to the region in the 16 and 1700s and made their lives farming and fishing the land and sea of this fertile coast. England and France fought over the area for many years. In 1755 the French were chased from their homes all over the Maritimes. Some were forced into exile in the United States, to end up in Louisiana and all along the Eastern seaboard. Today, Francophones and Anglophones both call New Brunswick home, and is in fact Canada's only officially bilingual province.
Our pictures of New Brunswick will show you why this unique atlantic province becomes more and more popular for tourists.
