Other purchase options for Native American Symbols
Native American people of years past used to carve symbols into the rocks to create mythical stories, legends and records of events that people of today still try and decipher. Visitors to Newspaper Rock National Historical Site in Canyonlands National Park in Utah will sit for hours and examine these ancient symbols of the Native American people.
Some of the petroglyphs are of animals, paw prints, humans and abstract shapes and they seem to date back to prehistoric times. The meaning of these Native American symbols is still unclear and the full stories behind them will probably never be resolved.
We do know that the Native American people once called this region their home and these symbols definitely mean a lot more than we might believe. Many hours of hard work was put into creating these symbols as they were pecked and scratched into the stones.
Newspaper Rock National Historical Site is about 40 kilometers northwest of Monticello on the eastern side of Utah close to a stream and trail. A picnic area is located near this area and there is no cost to see these historical symbols, so a lunch break and viewing is a must while traveling Utah, USA.
