The mouth watering Mozartkugeln chocolate balls from Salzburg can be bought in famous Karntnerstrasse in Vienna, Austria. A beautiful burgundy colored box is filled with delicious chocolate balls that have forty-five percent praline paste and six percent marzipan in the center.
The Mozartkugeln chocolates were made by a gentleman known as Paul Furst in 1890 and he named them after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In 1905, Furst won a gold medal for his chocolates and today they are only sold in four different specialty shops or they can be purchased through their website.
Each Mozartkugeln chocolate is still made by hand which is quite a lengthy process of dipping and dunking. When you taste the finished product, you will appreciate...
... the care and attention that goes into the making of these chocolates.
Many different confectioners have tried to duplicate these chocolates using the same name. Eventually court proceedings had to take place which gave Furst products the only one that can use the original Salzburg Mozartkugeln name. Mirabell is one of the producers of the Mozartkugeln chocolates in Vienna, Austria and once you taste one you will understand what a delicacy it is. One is never enough.
