Mount Perdido in the Pyrenees in Huesca, Aragon in Spain is a stunning stretch of mountain and was once described as "the most beautiful limestone peak in Europe". Mount Perdido has an elevation of 3355 meters and stands as the highest summit in the Massif of the 3 Sorores also known as the three sisters.
Hiking, mountain climbing and trad climbing are three of the outdoor activities people involve themselves in around Mount Perido in the Pyrenees, Spain. The first successful climb up Mount Perdido was never recorded but the first documented one was on August 6th, 1802 by two French guides.
There are many different routes to climbing this section of the Pyrenees in Spain but there is one in particular which is considered the easiest. It involves a fairly steep walk up in the summer months over a mass of loose stones on the north side of the peak. In winter, the climb up Mount Perdido is much more difficult as it becomes a snow and ice climb where special boots and equipment are required.
The view from the top of Mount Perdido in the Pyrenees in Aragon, Spain is breathtaking especially on a cloudless day.
