Every fall after mating and in order to conserve energy during the winter, the male moose will drop its large antlers. This large male moose was standing amongst the lush grass on the banks of a lake in the Denali National Park in Alaska, USA. Moose are largely distributed through Alaska and Canada in North America as well as northern parts of Europe.
