Mistaya River

A canyon is carved out by the Mistaya River on its journey toward the North Saskatchewan River in the Banff National Park of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada

Hiking a short trail to Mistaya Canyon you see where Mistaya River drops into the 20 metre deep canyon. The gravel and rock dust are what cause the delicately sculptured grooves and potholes in the limestone walls. The Mistaya Canyon is found in the Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada 72km from Lake Louise just before Saskatchewan Crossing.
