This is one of the immaculate vineyards of the Hawkes Bay area of New Zealand where a variety of grapes are grown to create some exquisite wines that come from the Mission Estate Winery. Acres of grapes grow in these vineyards at the Mission Estate Winery and they have two other vineyards within Hawkes Bay. Each one of these vineyards has a slightly different climate trait which aids in the production of a variety of grapes which in turn produces an assortment of wines.
The Church Road vineyard was first planted in 1910 and covers 17 hectares and from these crops Mission Estate wines include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Cabernet Franc. This is where Mission Estate was first recognized as being...

Another vineyard on Mere Road covers 8 hectares and was not planted until 2002 and 2003. From this vineyard great wines like Syrah and Merlot are made. The last vineyard is on Gimblett Road which was planted in 1993 with an area of 9 hectares that produces great wines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petit Verdot.
Four other vineyards around the region are sights for contract growers that the wine is sourced from and supplied to the Mission Estate Winery in New Zealand.
It seems that the majority of wines that are made and labeled by Mission Estate Winery are very good and the way that they have their vineyards laid out works exceptionally well for the wine production.
