At 65.5 metres tall, the Saamis Teepee stood as a symbol of Canada's aboriginal heritage during the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The teepee was relocated to the city of Medicine Hat after the Olympics and has stood at it's current location ever since and is a popular attraction in the city.
The name of the teepee, Saamis, is a Blackfoot word which means eagle tail feather headdress. A headdress worn by a medicine man.
