Considered one of the most rarest and most endangered mammals in the world, the Vancouver Island Marmot is a unique species which is found only on the island. Marmots are herbivores and eat several different species of grasses and wild flowers. They live in small colonies which are made up of one or more families consisiting of one adult male, one or more females, and offspring.
