The wide and very impressive waterfall known as High Falls or Scenic High Falls near the town of Wawa, Ontario crashes over the rock ledges for a drop of seventy-five feet and spans across the landscape for one hundred and twenty-five feet. Surrounded by tall forest trees with leaves that are beginning to change into beautiful Autumn colors, the water rushes through the wilderness into the Magpie River.

In the backdrop, you can see where the dam crosses the river which was designed to fit in with the beauty of the area. Two other dams have been constructed along the Magpie River, one being the Steephill Falls Dam and the other being Mission Falls Dam.

A short path leads you to the top of High Falls but depending on the force and the amount of water, the area may be roped off. Spring is especially a season when the water increases excessively and getting to close to the High Falls can mean a shower.
