A massive tree stands along the trails in Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada which is hundreds of years of old. In this rainforest you can find many trees such as this one where moss grows rampantly on their bark.
Some of the trunks of these old growth trees which are a mixture of Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock and Western Red Cedars, are over 9 meters around. Throughout the forest large ferns thrive and a variety of plant life encircles the ground around the base of these giants.
