Luceram is a pretty mountain village in the Alpes Maritimes in Provence, France, built on the site of an ancient Roman camp. The cliff top houses are made of stone and some have 'greniers a vent' or open attics. The winding, narrow streets of Luceram in Provence are cobblestone.
In the winter of 1998 the villagers of Luceram began a tradition - 'Circuit des Creches' - Christmas manger scenes from very small ones to a ten meter replica of Luceram. All the houses are decorated with evergreens and red bows. The entire village of Luceram becomes a festive, happy place and the friendly inhabitants delight in showing off their Creches.
