... area it is the longest at 80 kilometres (50 miles) long. It's a very deep lake and it's floor is said to be around 100 metres (328 feet) below sea level. It also features a seiche which causes the water level of the lake to rise and fall around 20 cm (8 in).
The Dart River flows into Lake Wakatipu while the Kawarau River drains the lake from the Frankton Arm which is near Queenstown.
