The city of Siena in Tuscany, Italy is the capital of the province of Siena and has been inhabited since at least 70 AD when it was first documented, although probably Siena was a settlement 500 years earlier, during the Etruscan era.

The Piazza is shaped like a shell and the city hall, Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia can be found there. The view of the city from the Torre (tower) is outstanding. The Italian Romanesque Duomo, built during the 12th to 14th centuries is another landmark which should not be missed. Also not to be missed is this beautiful lifelike sculpture which is situated near one of the entrances to the city.
