Standing below the Kauri trees, you look way up into the white clouds above and you will be able to visualize where the tops of these trees end.

Some of the large Kauri trees can grow up to fifty meters tall and they tower way above the rest of the forest growth. They are considered to be one of the most ancient trees throughout the world and are only found in the northern districts on the North Island of New Zealand.

Some of the large trees around the North Island of New Zealand are known to be around 2,000 years old as they take a very long time to reach their maximum height. Their trunks can grow to be five meters around with the leaves that adorn the top of the large tree, being three to seven centimeters in length.
