This tree can be found along the Bush Walk in Trounson Kauri Park, in Northland, on the North Island of New Zealand. These trees are a sight to see, because they can only be found above the 38 degree line, in the northern district of New Zealand's North Island. This tree is not the largest, but is the tallest tree in the country.

Kauri trees were once used in the ship building industry as well as for house construction however today in some areas it is unlawful to cut a Kauri Tree down which is over 3 metres high.
