The town of Torbole in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy is a resort centre. Sitting at the top of Lago di Garda (Lake Garda) and close to the mouth of the Sarca River, Torbole is a paradise for windsurfing and sailing.
Lake Garda is the largest of the Italian lakes and also the cleanest. Torbole, Italy has only been accessible by road since the end of 2000 when the construction of a roadway around Lake Garda was completed.
A unique wind pattern on the lake is great for the sailboats and surfers - in the afternoon and evening the wind blows from the South and from midnight through the morning from the North. Visitors to Torbole, Italy will find the Tourist Office near the jetty on Lake Garda. There you can get information on rentals (boats, boards and bikes) and hotel accommodations.
If you are not athletic, the promenade will lead to the lovely public beaches, or take a walk through the old part of Torbole, Italy and visit Saint Andrea Church. First mentioned in 1175 the church was damaged by the French army in 1703 and restored in a Baroque style. A very peaceful place to sit and pray or contemplate the beauty of the lake and surrounding area.
