King Penguin

The King Penguin lives in the Antartica and is the second largest type of penguin.

share to Facebook The King Penguin resides on islands at the farthest northern point of the Antartica and is second in size to the Emperor Penguin which is the biggest of all birds.

The King Penguin has a bluish-black back, a white belly and golden colored patches on each side of their head. There are two subspecies of the King Penguin with approximately 4 million worldwide and they are still increasing on a fairly regular basis.

King Penguins are extremely good swimmers and this helps them catch their daily intake of food which consists of small fish, squid and crustaceans.

While in the Antartica, be sure to visit the penguins in their natural habitat and you will probably get some spectactular photos of King Penguins.
