Once you enter the doors of the Kavarna Slavia in the morning hours, the aroma is heavenly with fresh coffee brewing and their cakes are some of the best in the downtown area of Prague. During the evening hours, the Kavarna Slavia is a very fashionable place to come for a drink and watch the history of the Czech Republic through the windows. The coffeehouse is ideally situated in downtown Prague and is open at eight in the morning until eleven at night so the hours are plentiful.
Kavarna Slavia originally opened in Prague in 1881 but shut down in 1991 as there was a problem in the ownership. After six years, the coffeehouse was restored and the doors were reopened making a lot of people extremely happy.
