Information about the "Kaikoura Whale Watching Boat Wheketere NZ" photograph:

Whale Watch Kaikoura founded in 1987, started out with one boat and due to the success of their business, several vessels have been added to their fleet, one in particular is the Wheketere. Whale Watching trips leave the dock four times daily and the time spent aboard the boat is between two and a half and three hours.

Once aboard the Wheketere, that leaves from Kaikoura, NZ you are in for an exciting whale watching excursion. The hunt is on for the mighty Sperm Whale, but during June and July, the possibility of seeing humpbacks and Orca are a great possibility. Always keep your eyes open for Hectors dolphins, Dusky dolphins, Southern Right Whales, Blue Whales, Fur seals and the great Royal Albatross.

The boat can hold a passenger capacity of forty-eight but the amount of people on board is usually less to ensure that everyone has a great whale watching experience. The main cabin on the Wheketere is enclosed for those who like the warmth and the upper deck has great viewing areas that give people an excellent opportunity for photos.

Whale sightings are never guaranteed as they are wild mammals and there are times where they disappear completely for a day or two. Whale Watch Kaikoura, will refund 80% of your money if you do not see a whale and that does not make a difference if you are aboard the Wheketere or any of the other vessels that they run.

Whale watching vessel the Wheketere operated by Whale Watch Kaikoura, Kaikoura, Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand.
