Trees along the banks of the Jacques Cartier River in Parc de la Jacques-Cartier in Quebec, Canada seem to grow on a slant as they hang above the surface of the water. A few green leaves still cling to the thin branches as Autumn has already changed many of the leaves to yellow but they still manage to hang on to the tree.
The bark on this particular type of tree has areas where the moss grows but the bark eventually seems to separate and peel away. Not only do the Autumn leaves know when it is time to move on, but the bark will also shed, showing off the new growth on the tree when spring arrives.
