Ice

The compacted ice of an ancient berg is slowly eroded by the constant lapping of the Atlantic Ocean in Newfoundland, Canada.

Some of the purest ice in the world comes from the glaciers of Greenland. The blue colour in the ice comes from absorption of red and yellow light which leaves only the blue. The icebergs which travel to Newfoundland on the Atlantic Ocean currents begin their journey in Greenland, a long way, and the scouring effects of the water are evident.
