A humpback whale in Johnstone Strait dives peacefully into calm waters. On this day off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, an opportune time arose for a great photo of this tail of a humpback.
Every humpback can be identified by the white markings on the underside of its tail. These markings are all personalized just like our own set of fingerprints.
