A man and lady leisurely sit on their comfy seats as a line of horse drawn wagons make their way down the main street of Roxburgh, New Zealand. This event is to raise money to help in the funding of the Westpac Helicopter Rescue which is a very important necessity to New Zealand.
This rescue operation started back in 1950 for rescue missions in the Korean War and they have saved many people over the years since then. The rescues and air ambulance service that Westpac Helicopters provides has made an enormous difference in whether or not a person will live or die due to the time limits and medical equipment on board.
The town of Roxburgh in Central Otago aids in anyway they can to support this service and the horse drawn wagons that parade down the streets is a great way to raise money. About 750 people reside in the town of Roxburgh, New Zealand which is located on the main highway and if special events are happening, then passing cars will also be aware of them.
The horse drawn wagons make the day very exciting for everyone that comes out for this event as kids love to see the horses and adults love this way of transportation. Each horse is brushed and cared for so they look their best while trotting down the street in the Roxburgh fundraiser.
