A costumed interpreter at the Norstead Viking Site is charged with the job of explaining the history behind a Viking village and port of trade which Norstead depicts.
The Norstead Viking Site is situated in historic L'Anse-aux-Meadows at the top of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. Norstead is located only a couple of kilometres from the L'Anse-aux-Meadows National Historic Site which is the only authenticated viking site found in North America. The vikings came ashore here and built their sod homes and...
... buildings and set up a port of trade.
Today the costumed interpreters bring Norstead to life by demonstrating the history of these vikings and what life was like for these pioneering people.
The Norstead Viking site is open during the summer months and offers admission rates for adults, seniors, families, children and Groups.
