The historical Indian village and museum known as Ksan in Hazelton, British Columbia, Canada is a partial replica of the ancient Gitxsan village. The Gitxsan's communities were located in an area on the Skeena River which was considered an important fishing and transportation site.
In the Ksan Indian village the houses are all in a single line facing the river so that the artwork on the front of the houses and the totem poles can been seen from the water which was also typical of the Gitxsan people. These houses are named individually and they all have a legendary story behind them as do the totem poles.
The historical culture, exceptional arts and traditional every day life of this Indian village is to be respected and...
... admired. Several of these houses are available for tours which provides you with a great deal of knowledge and history on the way the people live in the Ksan Indian Village in Hazelton, British Columbia, Canada.
