The Torres de Quart, the large Gothic towers were built in 1441 as an entrance gate in the medieval city wall. Designed by an architect Pere Bontill, the Torres de Quart received damage, from cannon balls, during Napoleon's Campaign (1808-1809) in the Peninsular War. Today, tourists are amazed at the architecture of these Gothic towers.
