After a drive off the tee box, possibly a few good or bad shots down the fairway, putting could be the key to getting par on each hole in a round of golf. Putting can very tricky and there is a lot more to playing the game of golf than just swinging your club and hitting the little white ball.
Reading the greens, your stance, the weight of your swing and direction are all extremely important in the putting portion of your golf game. The putting stance is fairly different from your stance that you use when you are hitting your driver or irons and some people find their own style that works for them when putting.
The best approach to putting is to start out with a square stance having your feet approximately shoulder width apart and making sure that your toes form a parallel line to the cup. Be sure that your golf ball is somewhere between mid-stance and the left foot and your eyes are almost directly over your ball. The putting stance may feel a little awkward at first but once you acquire your own putting techniques, everything else will eventually fall into place.
