Biot is a small village in Provence, France which once produced earthenware vessels for wine and oil. When metal replaced the pottery the industry died out, but other crafts became popular especially glassblowing.
This glass artistry can be seen in demonstrations at any of the glassworks in Biot in Provence, one of the largest of these glassworks is La Verrerie de Biot located on chemin des Combes.
