In the Mala Strana district or the Lesser Quarter of Prague in the Czech Republic, you will find this exquisite building that marks the home to the German Embassy. The building itself is unbelievably gorgeous while the grounds at the back of the German Embassy are filled with stunning gardens and sculptures.
The German Embassy opened in 1974 but in 1989, the embassy was a temporary place of residence for thousands of East German refugees. They camped out around the grounds of the Germany Embassy building in Prague and the number of people eventually become outrageous which started to cause many problems.
At the end of September, there was an agreement that their journey to West Germany was possible marking an incredible time in...
... German history. More people arrived after this agreement which took its toll on the Czech Republic head honchos and all East Germans were able to travel straight onto West Germany.
Today, people that apply for a visa at the German Embassy in the Mala Strana district in the city of Prague, must be citizens of the Czech Republic. Any others wanting to apply for a visa must do so in their country.
