The Les Arenes is a Roman arena in Arles, France that seats approximately 25,000 people and is still used in the summer to host bullfighting events. Bullfighting is a huge spectators sport and a traditional spectacle of the corridas, better known as bullfights, take place annually during the Easter festival at this arena.
The arena was completely restored in 1825 and the first bullfighting event to take place here was in 1853 with a sold out crowd. The city of Arles in France, Europe has three major bullfighting festivities each year and every one is completely sold out but these events bring approximately 500,000 visitors to France.

... at the arena be sure to watch your step. The limestone steps to the stone arena seated areas are all uneven and most of the masonry has been worn down. There are signs that warn you that if you are entering the arena, you do so at your own risk.
