Fishing Troller: Scientific Name:
Orcinus orca
A fishing troller heads home after a long day on the waters off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada as a killer whale approaches their boat to check things out. The crew of the fishing troller all head to the port side to watch as a female orca gives them all a close look at the size of her majestic body.
Killer whales often swim close to boats as they are fairly used to the sounds of fishing trollers, pleasure boats, ferry boats and any other kinds of water vessels. As a common rule boats should not go any nearer than 100 metres when spotting killer whales but a lot of the time if you shut off your engines the orcas will approach you.
Fishing trollers are seen on a regular basis around the waters off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada especially when the salmon run is in full force.
