Other purchase options for Ferryboat MV Apollo
Ferry service runs between Newfoundland and the Labrador region of the Province and is the main transportation service to get between these two places. This ferryboat named the MV Apollo is a recent addition to the fleet and here it is arriving at the terminal in St Barbe from its latest trip across the Strait of Belle Isle.
The MV Apollo took the place of the Northern Princess ferryboat which had been operating this route for many years. The MV Apollo is a much larger vessel and the amount of passengers and vehicles it can carry is a fair bit more.
In the year 2000, the MV Apollo ferryboat made its first run across the Strait of Belle Isle and has been running daily during the summer months since (subject to pack ice). It takes about one and a half hours for the MV Apollo to cross and while aboard the ferryboat there are several amenities to peak your interest.
Seats are provided where you can explore the waters for whales, birds and other sea mammals or visit the craft shop that carries a vast selection of Labrador crafts. For food or refreshments, there is a cafeteria/restaurant or just wander throughout the MV Apollo picking up brochures, newspapers or information.
