Here is one of the many interesting facts about Canada. Turtle Mountain was known to the First Nations people as the Mountain that Walks. In the early hours of April 29 1903, the mountain did just that, one side of Turtle Mountain collapsed and resulted in the greatest landslide in North American history. Parts of the original town of Frank are still buried beneath this massive landslide to this day. Looking out from the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, the path of the slide is still evident with a field of massive boulders, rocks, and rubble spreading out over more than a mile.
The Frank Slide Interpretive Centre explains some interesting facts abouts the slide and how Canada made history.
