The Dynamic Earth is an intriguing tourist attraction which shows visitors to Sudbury, Ontario interactive exhibits and shows which focus on the geology and mining heritage of the area. Underground tours are available, where visitors wear a miner's hat to venture through the tunnels where mining techniques were practiced regularly in the 1900's.
Going to 300 meters below the surface of the earth in a glass enclosed elevator, visitors to Dynamic Earth can try to dig for their own nickel and view the equipment which miners used from the late 1800's into the 1950's. Dynamic Earth is open from the beginning of September until the middle of October and then again from the beginning of March for approximately three weeks.
