The Dunstan House is a historic hotel that was built in 1863 along the main street in the town of Clyde in Central Otago, New Zealand where many travelers stopped for a good night's rest, a meal and some live entertainment. In 1900 the Dunstan House was rebuilt out of stone and timber wood and was the only one in Central Otago, New Zealand of its kind.
Until 1937, the Dunstan House was used regularly by the miners and settlers who visited Clyde and then the end came for the Gold Rush and the hotel had to close down. It sat empty and dark until 1968 and was then partly restored for the location of an antique store and a place to sleep for backpackers that traveled through Clyde, New Zealand.
The Dunstan House is now a beautiful refurnished hotel decorated with fine wood staircases, living areas for the guests to use, rooms adorned with individual designs and furniture and a large deck that overlooks the main street of Clyde.
The Dunstan House is like having all the comforts of home while you enjoy the many attractions in the historic town of Clyde in Central Otago, New Zealand.
