Back in 1906, the Dunedin Railway Station in Otago, New Zealand was opened for public travel and was awarded for its exquisite architectural design. The station is considered to be ranked in the top 200 places to see in the world and is one of the most well known buildings on the South Island of New Zealand.
It was not until 1996 that the outside of the railway station was completely refurbished. The stonework was thoroughly scrubbed and cleaned and all of the stone that had been damaged over the years was replaced with matching Oamaru stone.
