Dandelions Field: Scientific Name:
Taraxacum officinale
Dandelions are native to Europe and produce a yellow flower head which opens in the day and closes at night. Dandelions grow wild so when all the yellow heads are open during the daylight hours, the lush green grass of this field now has a layer of beautiful yellow flowers.
Dandelions are actually considered weeds which can kill the vegetation in your field and block the sunlight. They can be considered more of a problem for some locals rather than a picture of beauty.
The amazing Dolomite mountains in the backdrop with the small village of Toblach, Italy in the foreground makes this field of dandelions look extremely attractive and not at all like a field of weeds.
