Edvard Benes became President of Czechoslovakia in 1935 to 1938 and again from 1945 to 1948 where his presidency term got broken by World War II during which time he was president-in-exile from 1940 to 1945. President Benes resigned from his leadership on June 7, 1948 and died of natural causes on September 3, 1948.
