Cougar: Scientific Name:
Felis concolor
This cougar was playing out a real life hunt. It was stalking its prey and once within striking distance, it pounced on its prey much like a domestic cat does a mouse. Once Cougars have caught their prey, they will generally eat what they need then bury the rest, hiding it from other animals until they are able to finish it themselves.
Generally an ellusive animal, the cougar will stalk their prey to within 30 feet before pouncing from its hiding place. This cougar was found on Vancouver Island in BC.
