The sun shines above the town of Conche in Newfoundland Labrador which helps in the thawing of the pack ice that fills the harbour and prevents the fishermen from heading out in their boats. Conche Harbour can be clogged with pack ice for a couple of months at a time if the weather does not cooperate or for much shorter lengths of time if the sun shines on a day to day basis.
